The Ultimate Philly Cheese Steak with Creamy Au Jus
Ingredients:
4 hoagie rolls
1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
1 large onion, thinly sliced
1 bell pepper, sliced
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
1 cup American cheese, shredded
1/2 cup au jus (creamy yellow color)
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Add the sliced onions and bell pepper and sauté until soft, about 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, melt butter and add the thinly sliced ribeye steak. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes until browned, then add the cooked onions and peppers back into the skillet, mixing to combine.
Cut the hoagie rolls in half and place them on a baking sheet. Toast them lightly in the oven or in a separate skillet until golden brown.
Fill each hoagie roll with the steak, peppers, and onions mixture. Top with a blend of provolone and American cheese.
Drizzle with the creamy au jus and serve immediately.
