Spicy Garlic Beef Croquettes with Crispy Golden Crus
Ingredients
For the Filling:
1/2 lb ground beef
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp chili flakes
1 tbsp soy sauce
Salt & pepper to taste
1 cup mashed potatoes (firm, not too creamy)
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
For Coating & Frying:
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs
Oil for frying
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Directions
Cook Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with garlic, chili flakes, soy sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper until browned and fragrant. Let cool slightly.
Mix Filling: In a bowl, combine mashed potatoes and seasoned beef until fully blended. Chill mixture for 20 minutes for easier shaping.
Form Croquettes: Scoop mixture and roll into balls or small logs.
Bread the Croquettes: Roll each in flour, dip in egg, and coat in breadcrumbs.
Fry: Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry croquettes until golden brown, about 2–3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
Serve: Garnish with parsley and serve hot with spicy mayo or garlic aioli.
