Not So Impossible Cheeseburger Pie
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 large eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup Bisquick or other baking mix
Optional: sliced pickles or tomatoes for garnish
Directions:
Preheat the Oven:
Set your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.
Brown the Beef:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with the chopped onion. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until beef is no longer pink and onions are tender. Drain excess fat.
Layer the Pie:
Transfer the beef mixture into the prepared pie dish. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
Make the Batter:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and Bisquick until smooth.
Combine and Bake:
Pour the Bisquick batter over the beef and cheese in the pie dish. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean and the top is golden brown.
Rest and Serve:
Let the pie rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with sliced pickles or tomatoes if desired.
