Meaty Texas Trash Dip

Bold, Cheesy, and Loaded with Flavor – A Crowd-Pleasing Hot Dip with a Meaty Twist

Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef (or ground sausage for added spice)
1 packet taco seasoning mix
1/4 cup water
1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened
1 cup sour cream
1 (16 oz) can refried beans
1/2 cup salsa (your favorite kind)
1 (4 oz) can diced green chiles, drained
2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend, divided
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Optional toppings: sliced green onions, diced tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, chopped cilantro

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×9-inch or 2-quart baking dish.
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain any excess grease.
Stir in taco seasoning and 1/4 cup water. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat.
In a large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, refried beans, salsa, green chiles, 1 cup of shredded cheese, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well blended.
Fold in the cooked meat mixture until evenly incorporated.
Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheese evenly over the top.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.
Remove from oven and garnish with optional toppings if desired.
Serve warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or sliced veggies.
