Juicy Minced Steaks Topped with Rich Onion Sauce
Recipe
Ingredients:
2 beef steaks hachés (minced steaks)
1 medium onion, finely sliced
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup red wine (optional)
1 cup beef broth
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon flour
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh thyme or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Heat the butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the steaks hachés and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side or until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Season with salt and pepper. Remove the steaks from the pan and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook over low heat until soft and caramelized, about 15 minutes. Stir occasionally to avoid burning.
Sprinkle the flour over the onions and cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Gradually add the beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps. Add the wine (if using) and sugar, and let the sauce simmer for 5 minutes until thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Place the steaks back into the skillet and spoon the onion sauce over the top. Let them simmer in the sauce for another 2-3 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Serve the steaks hot, garnished with fresh thyme or parsley if desired.
