Garlic Herb Butter Steak with Cheesy Mashed Potatoe
Juicy grilled steak drenched in garlic herb butter, paired with oven-baked mashed potatoes topped with golden cheese crust. One bite and you’re not just eating — you’re ascending.
Ingredients:
For the Steak:
2 ribeye or strip steaks (1″ thick, room temp)
Salt & cracked black pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter (for basting)
2 garlic cloves, smashed
Fresh thyme or rosemary
For the Garlic Herb Butter:
4 tbsp softened butter
2 tsp chopped parsley
1 tsp minced garlic
½ tsp lemon juice
Pinch of salt
For the Cheesy Mashed Potatoes:
4 large russet potatoes, peeled & boiled
½ cup heavy cream
¼ cup butter
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or blend)
Salt & pepper to taste
Optional: garlic powder, chives
Instructions:
1. Make the Herb Butter:
Mix butter, parsley, garlic, lemon juice & salt. Chill or keep soft at room temp.
2. Cook the Steak:
Season steaks generously with salt & pepper.
Heat skillet or grill pan to high.
Sear steaks 2–3 mins per side. Add butter, garlic, and herbs. Baste for 1–2 mins.
Rest for 5 mins, then top with that glorious garlic herb butter.
3. Cheesy Mashed Potato Bake:
Mash boiled potatoes with butter, cream, and seasonings
Spoon into a baking dish, top with shredded cheese.
Broil or bake at 400°F for 10–15 mins until golden and bubbly.
Serve Like a Boss:
Steak dripping in butter sauce. Potatoes cheesy and crusted. Add roasted greens or grilled asparagus if you’re feelin’ fancy. Or don’t. It’s already perfect.
