Chinese-Style Beef and Onion Stir-Fry .
Ingredients:
1 lb (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 large onion, thinly sliced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1 tablespoon dark soy sauce (optional, for color)
1/4 cup beef broth or water
1 teaspoon sesame oil
2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Cooked jasmine rice, for serving
Directions:
In a bowl, combine the beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and cornstarch. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
Heat vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat.
Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
In the same wok, add sliced onion, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until onions soften.
Return the beef to the pan, pour in beef broth (or water), and add dark soy sauce if using. Stir-fry for another 2 minutes until sauce slightly thickens.
Drizzle with sesame oil and toss to coat evenly.
Serve hot over rice and garnish with sliced green onions.
