Strawberry Cheesecake Dump Cake

Strawberry Cheesecake Dump Cake

Ingredients

(Makes 12 servings)
For the Cheesecake Layer:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
½ tsp pure vanilla extract
For the Strawberry Layer:
1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling (or strawberry pie filling for extra berry flavor)
1 tsp almond extract (optional, for enhanced fruit flavor)
For the Cake Layer:
1 box (18.25 oz) yellow or white cake mix
½ cup unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
1 cup water

Instructions

Preheat and Prep:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
Mix the Cheesecake Base:
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sugar together until smooth and creamy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, then mix until fully combined.
Layer the Cheesecake Mixture:
Spoon dollops of the cheesecake mixture evenly over the bottom of the prepared pan.
Add the Strawberry Layer:
Spread the cherry or strawberry pie filling over the cheesecake layer. If using, stir in almond extract for a richer berry flavor.
Sprinkle on the Cake Mix:
Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the top of the pie filling.
Dot with Butter:
Place small pieces of cold butter across the surface of the cake mix.
Pour on Water:
Carefully pour the water over the entire mixture. This helps activate the cake mix and creates a moist, custard-like texture as it bakes.
Bake Until Golden:
Bake for 50–60 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbly.
Cool Before Serving:
Let the dump cake cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing. This allows the layers to set and makes for cleaner cuts.
